***INSTALLATION***
Unzip file to your unzipped folder,
drag MD-82 Alitalia folder into you fs98 aircraft folder, thats it.

You MUST have the FS98 converter to install this aircraft.

I recommend Eric Ernst's excellent MD-80/83 panel for this aircraft.

This Euro Direct configuration has the following configuration

Zero fuel weight 108281 lbs
MTOW 154295 lbs 


Takeoff

Aircraft requires a runway length of about 8000ft
Set the throttle to 94% N1 with 10 deg flaps

V1 = 143 kts
VR = 151 kts
V2 = 159 kts

all @ 154,295 lbs MTOW


Climb

Use the following rates of climb

3,500 fpm up to 10,000 ft
2,100 fpm from 10,000 to 20,000 ft
1,200 fpm above 20,000 ft


Cruise

This aircraft should be flown between FL300 and FL350 (30'000 - 35'000 feet), with the engine power at 80 % of N1.  This should give a cruise speed of Mach 0.76
Maximum range is achieved using 35000 ft cruise altitude.

Fuel prevision: number of flight hours X 5500 (depends on altitude) + 3000. Result is the number of lbs to take with you.


Descent

Descend at 2500 fpm

At 215 kts set 10 deg flaps
At 190 kts set 15 deg flaps
At 160 kts set 25 deg flaps
Gear down at 160 kts


MLW should not exceed 130,000 lbs

Land at about 140 kts

Stall speed (clean) is about 138 kts at landing weight.
